Pemberton Wine Region

Gazetted as one of Australia’s newest wine producers, the small Pemberton Wine Region has already established a reputation for being one the most exciting emerging wine regions.

Covering the towns of Pemberton and Northcliffe, the region is home to many picturesque vineyards that adjoin karri forests. It combines southern latitude with high altitude and has a relatively cool climate, making it ideal for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes and suited to the production of refined Bordeaux-style wines.

Other grape varieties grown in the Pemberton Wine Region are Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Semillon and Shiraz. It has also been noted that Pemberton is one of the few regions within Australia that offers fantastic potential for Merlot and that the region will become an increasingly valuable resource for this grape variety.

Note: Wine tastings add to your blood alcohol concentration.
As a guide, within any one hour period, five standard 20ml tastes of wine will put you dangerously close to the legal limit (0.05%).
So either buy a bottle for home, nominate a skipper or catch a bus tour.
