South West Tapestry

The South West Tapestry is a rich blend of maritime history, green pastures, fertile orchards, sparkling coastal waters and fascinating marine life.

Within easy reach of Perth, the region is very popular for day trips and short getaways. It's also the gateway to the Margaret River Wine Region and the Blackwood River Valley.

Country Towns

This diverse and vibrant region begins in the rich agricultural land surrounding Harvey nearby Brunswick Junction which are right in the heart of dairy farming country. A short side trip from here will take you through rolling hills and jarrah forests to the Collie River Valley and the historic coal-mining town of Collie. Then onto Dardanup in the Ferguson Valley a sub-region of the Geographe Wine Region. Boyanup, Capel and Donnybrook are farming towns located in the southern end of the region.  

Bunbury and Dolphin Discovery

At the centre of the South West Tapestry region is the cosmopolitan city of Bunbury. Located on the coast, its character architecture reflects its historic maritime origins. Bunbury is also renowned for its friendly dolphins, with the Dolphin Discovery Centre offering visitors the opportunity to interact with these enchanting creatures.

Food and Wine

The South West Tapestry area is noted for its fresh local produce. Local specialities include dairy, beef and orange juice from Harvey, crabs from Bunbury, and crisp apples from the orchard town of Donnybrook. It’s also home to the Geographe Wine Region.
