WHOLEFOOD FROM THE GROUND UP  – 3 days of wholefoods A wholefood kitchen is a living, breathing space where we translate intent and knowledge into food that can heal, nourish and delight. This 3 day workshop will focus on the foundations of healthy food and wholesome eating – the WHY something is good and most importantly, the KNOW HOW to use it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between.                       –  What makes the food we eat healthy?  –  What makes the way we eat wholesome, healthy, ethical and sustainable ?  –  Understanding the food we eat Fats, Carbohydrates and Proteins  –  Understanding dairy and gluten intolerance  –  Using natures seeds, including whole grains and legumes- so they are optimally digestible and able to nourish –  Foods from the sea, such as seaweeds, salt and fish  –  The benefits of animal bone and vegetarian stocks  –  Wholesome sweetness        Your questions are welcome, and the course includes something for everyone. Wheat and or gluten free and low gluten options (and indeed has a high % of gluten free) dairy free options, vegetarian and vegan options are all included.

Join us in celebrating the Great Southern regions food and agricultural innovators with a Fervor long table dinner at Twin Creeks, Porongurup. We have a diverse line up of local speakers and this years guest speaker from Victoria is Grant Sims(2015 Farmer of the Year). Enjoy a four course Fervor dinner with each innovator telling their story between courses. The bar will be open on the night with wine available from Freehand and beer by Wilsons Brewing

2017 Food for Thought Festival


A free wholesome family fun day. The 2017 Food for Thought Festival is part of the National Fair Food Week. Hear from industry leaders Jude Blereau(Nourishing Wisdoms), Tracy Lansdall(Native Bees) and Rick Bieber all the way from the USA(Agricultural Systems modelling Nature) in the morning and then enjoy a live music experience with headlining music act Soulin Wild plus local music acts The Easterly’s with Dave Rastrick and Jazztrix Duo.  Grab some lunch from a range of local lunch providers including Cultcha Kitchen, Haramin Food Van, Paella to You and Royale Patisserie plus more, and sit back enjoy the day while the kids are entertained for free by Southern Edge Arts.  Tent Talks are back this year with the regions best talent sharing their stories, challenges and hopes for the future of food. The Food for Thought Festival includes a variety of stall holders selling amazing local produce such authentic sourdough breads and whole food cakes, locally produced cheeses, locally grown and produced organic jams, chutneys, honey and locally made wines and beers plus much much more.
