Despite being the most visited place in the State after the capital city, the south west has managed to retain its relaxed charm and provide a destination which allows visitors the opportunity to slow down the pace and unwind. There’s even some pockets of the region which lack mobile connectivity, providing the rare opportunity to truly switch off and spend some time reconnecting with loved ones face to face.
Exploring the south west on a charming country drive stopping into unique places is the best way to relax and reconnect with your family and nature.
The classic beachside holiday
The numerous pretty, coastal hamlets of the south west offer a secluded coastal escape. Dotted along the region’s coastline, many of these villages have been frequented by families and fisher people for generations. Try Peppermint Grove, Myalup and Binningup for long sandy beaches, swimming, fishing and snorkelling. Peaceful Bay, located west of Denmark, is ideal for families as the ocean water here is calm. The clear water offers snorkelling opportunities and beach fishing often proves fruitful. Caravan and campers will love Peaceful Bay too, with facilities within easy walking distance of the lovely bay.
