5 Reasons to Book a Secluded Stay in the Margaret River Region

5 Reasons to Book a Secluded Stay in the Margaret River Region

Trade Suburban for Seclusion at This Country Getaway. Leave the hustle and bustle behind in favour of a few nights of bush life in Australia’s South West.

Though Eight Willows Retreat is just 252km from the heart of the Perth CBD (and 84km from Bunbury), its lush bush-scapes and slow farm pace will have you feeling a million miles away. From the moment you step foot on the 75-acre property and take that first deep breath of fresh country air, there’s no stopping the onset of all the relaxing vibes.

Life doesn’t happen in the fast lane at Eight Willows. It’s all about taking the time to savour the small moments, like the silence and stillness while fishing for trout in the property’s lake or the thrill of spotting a rare native orchid on a hike through the bush tracks.

Even the most routine of things feel different in the country. Dusk hits in a new way when you’re watching the sun dip below the horizon from your private verandah, kangaroos grazing on the grass in front of you and a glass of regional wine in hand.

Even breakfast at the retreat has that ‘farm charm’ to it, with the supplied baskets coming packed full of fruit fresh from the on-site orchard and eggs laid by the flock of free-range chickens.

A stay at Eight Willows has got all the components everybody loves about country life, without falling short on all the creature comforts either.

In lieu of quaint historic cottages, you’ll find 25 modern and traditional rammed earth chalets dotted about the property, as well as one grand 10-person country residence. The one, two, and four-bedroom chalets are self-contained and come equipped with modern amenities, wifi, and air conditioning. All you need to bring to ensure a comfortable stay is yourself and your suitcase.

Should you wish to get out and explore the region, you have everything right there on your doorstep. The locality of Metricup is home to a high concentration of award-winning vineyards, including Vasse Felix and Cullen Wines, and, for the beer drinkers, there’s the family-friendly Beer Farm too. It’s also just a short drive to the Wilyabrup sea cliffs, Gracetown Beach, and Bettenay’s Nougat.

It’s the perfect place to get away from it all, while still being within arms reach of the best of the region.
