EXPERIENCE THE STORY
To navigate and interpret the exhibits, visitors assume the identity of one of 32 actual service men or women, and follow their experience of the Great War.
Their stories start at recruitment and continue through training and embarking, life on the convoys and the conflicts at Gallipoli, the middle east and the Western Front.
Keep an eye out for a display dedicated to your character in the National Anzac Centre. At the end of your journey through the Centre, discover the fate of your character. For those lucky enough to survive, read about their return home and the difficulties they faced adjusting back into normal society, and learn about the legacy they all left behind.

The National Anzac Centre is located on Mt Adelaide, also home to the original heritage listed Princess Royal Fortress constructed in 1897. The Fortress buildings have been beautifully restored and a complimentary guided tour is included with travelling exhibits adding to the experience. Visitors can explore the battery guns and the commemorative Convoy Walk which culminates in a lookout with panoramic views over King George Sound.
