The Balingup Small Farm Field Day (BSFFD) is back on at Balingup Town Oval after 4 years - there being a smaller one in 2021. It is being held on Sat April 15th 9am til 4pm.
The theme is 'Small Farms - Big Ideas' - as it used to be.
The BSFFD concentrates on the activities of small farms with sections on livestock suitable for small holdings, small scale machinery and equipment, horticulture, gourmet foods from local products, local arts and crafts and a limited number of market stalls featuring predominantly local produce.
The featured guest feature this year is Chris Ferreira - with his Firewise Demonstration Garden including pland, book and mulch giveaways.
Also talks on composting, solar energy, bee keeping basics and biosecurity, a panel of local organic farmers answering questions about healthy food and healthy soils.
Local artists will be playing music and there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained - camel rides, animal petting, face painting, climbing tower and sand pit.
