GSCORE not-for-profit organisation established to promote the growth and development of the outdoor recreation industry in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.
GSCORE is dedicated to growing the capacity of the outdoor recreation workforce with an emphasis on innovation and best practice. Our goal is to enhance professionalism and skills in outdoor recreation among nature-based and adventure tourism businesses.
We do this by providing training and professional development to outdoor recreation business owners, tour guides, instructors, youth workers, among others.
We provide business mentoring and support to commercial businesses and community organisations through business forums, workshops, and information sessions.
We also provide strategic planning and consultancy services to support the development of new outdoor recreation events, programs, products, and services.
Through our partnerships with local tourism organisations, visitors centres and local government, we also assist with the marketing of the Great Southern as a destination for outdoor recreation activities and events.
GSCORE’s mission is to provide leadership to the outdoor recreation industry. We want to create a vibrant and sustainable outdoor recreation sector through the provision of innovative training, business support and strategic planning services.
Our activities include:
Product development - Supporting the development of new and existing outdoor recreation events, programs, products and services in the Great Southern.
Promotion - Assisting in marketing the Great Southern as a destination for outdoor recreation activities and events.
Business support - Providing a forum for outdoor recreation operators to showcase innovation and best practice, encouraging the adoption of innovative practices and finding solutions to a range of industry challenges.
Training - Establishing and promoting specialist tertiary training programs in outdoor recreation, outdoor education, and nature-based tourism.
Advocacy - Working with government at all levels to ensure outdoor recreation industry interests in the Great Southern are represented in public decision making processes.
Research - Undertaking and publishing original research into issues of importance to the outdoor recreation sector.
